I had the pleasure of shopping at Connect the Brick . I was on the hunt for minifigs this weekend and was on the hunt. I found a few I wanted at Eric’s store in Tacoma. I had heard of his store from the news when it first opened and I was anxious to check it out. I didn’t find Martian Manhunter or Zeb but I did find a Han Solo from the ceremony scene of the original Star Wars. I was able to leave an email address so that he could get in touch with me if he gets any of the figures I was looking for in stock
. His store is in the middle of the farmers market so it’s easy to find. Eric’s webpage
Just a few of the amazing LEGO creations I saw in the Brick Nation area of ECCC.

I had the pleasure of seeing this build at Emerald City Comicon 2016 in the Brick Nation area of the event. It’s staggering in scale. When I photograph scale models I usually bring a dollar and a quarter for reference. I didn’t have either with me this time.

When I saw this set in the Lego catalog I knew I had to have it. I have been needing a break from 1/72 scale modeling and I have been wanting to practice building dioramas. I had an idea for this set. I would make a dio of the scene with C-3PO and R2-D2 arguing over what to do next.
I used some left over shipping boxes from our recent outing to Emerald City Comicon to start building up the impact crater.

After covering the layers of cardboard in some drywall putty I attached it to the base I bought and covered it in sand colored paint.

I took off the masking around the edges and added the minifigs of R2-D2 and C-3PO . This is my first DIY tutorial and my first DIY project. Stay tuned for the studio photos , for now here is a cellphone shot.
